Website terms of use
Last updated 16 October 2026
This website is run by TradeBeat ("TradeBeat", "we", "us"). By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
These terms are not our selling agreement
These terms cover your use of this website only. If you ask us to sell your car, that arrangement is set out in a separate written agreement that you review and sign before anything happens. That agreement covers the benchmark, the split, the listing period and everything else about the sale. If anything on this website differs from your signed agreement, the signed agreement applies.
Statutory warranty and consignment sales
We sell your car on consignment, as your agent. You stay the owner until the buyer has paid in full. Under Queensland law, a used car sold by a licensed motor dealer on consignment for its private owner does not carry a statutory warranty. When we say a sale through us carries no statutory warranty, this is what we mean.
That has some limits you should know about:
- It only applies while you own the car. If TradeBeat ever bought a car outright and then resold it, that sale would carry the statutory warranty in the normal way.
- Buyers are told. Before a buyer signs, we must tell them in writing that the car is sold on consignment, that it has no statutory warranty and that there is no cooling-off period. Our listings say the same.
- It is not a promise that a buyer can never make a claim. Other consumer protections, including under the Australian Consumer Law, may still apply to a sale depending on the circumstances, and nothing on this website limits a right you or a buyer has by law. You also remain responsible for telling us honestly about the car's condition and history.
This is general information, not legal advice. Your signed selling agreement sets out how it applies to your car.
Estimates are a guide, not an offer
The calculator, example figures and any estimate we give you before we have inspected your car are indicative only. They are based on general market assumptions and the details you give us. They are not an offer to buy your car, a valuation, or a promise of what your car will sell for. What a car actually achieves depends on its condition, history, the market at the time and other factors outside our control.
